Issue #2: CoreWeave's Christmas Company Profile
The GPU Cloud Profiles: A Gift for Christmas Day

Why spend hours chasing fragmented GPU cloud insights when you can unwrap them here in one place?
There is a lack of collated and curated information about GPU cloud platforms and adjacent companies. It is scattered and fragmented, often more noise than signal. That’s where these profiles come in. Each issue will serve the insights that matter for a single neo-cloud, AI-cloud company, enabler, or otherwise.
Who they are, what they do, and why they matter.
All in one place.
Why am I doing this on Christmas Day? Nothing says “holiday cheer” like unravelling the mysteries of GPU infrastructure. Some people bake cookies. I bake clarity.
First up: CoreWeave.

Company Background
CoreWeave started as a cryptocurrency mining operation in 2017 in Roseland, New Jersey. But they quickly spotted the bigger opportunity: GPU compute.
At CoreWeave, we built the first hyperscaler that's specifically designed to power the #AI revolution. In this article, we discuss our dedication to maximizing performance, reliability and observability for large-scale AI workloads. Read more here ⬇️

Fast-forward to today, and they’ve become one of the most talked-about names in the AI cloud space. With 14 data centres already online (and plans to hit 28 by the end of 2024), they’re building infrastructure purpose-built for high-performance computing, AI, and machine learning.
Their mission is simple:
To power the intelligence driving innovation.
However, behind that mission is a strong company culture. Curiosity. Ownership. Commitment. Coreweave strives for more than just good service:
They’re obsessed with creating exceptional client experiences.
Executive Team
Michael Intrator (CEO): The driving force behind CoreWeave’s evolution from crypto to AI-first cloud.
Brian Venturo (Chief Strategy Officer): Former CTO and the tech mind making sure CoreWeave’s infrastructure stays ahead of the pack.
Brannin McBee (CDO): Charting the company’s strategic course as they scale globally.
Evan Meagher (CFO): The entrepreneurial financial hand guiding the spending decision of the AI Hyperscaler.
The Edge
CoreWeave’s infrastructure is purpose-built for AI, giving them a clear advantage over traditional cloud providers:
Tailored for AI at Scale: Designed to handle NVIDIA Blackwell-powered mega-clusters, their data centres can accommodate racks with up to 130kW of power, far beyond the limits of legacy designs.
Liquid Cooling First: CoreWeave can manage high-density workloads sustainably and efficiently with liquid cooling in their newest facilities.
Cutting-Edge Networking: Leveraging NVIDIA Quantum-2 InfiniBand networks for ultra-fast interconnects, CoreWeave ensures high performance across even the largest clusters.
Custom Design and Security: Partnering with vendors and working hands-on with engineers, CoreWeave builds facilities specifically for AI workloads while maintaining strict data security protocols.
Massive GPU Portfolio: CoreWeave offers one of the most comprehensive selections of NVIDIA GPUs, ready to meet burstable compute needs for enterprises of any size.
We’re proud to bring up the first @nvidia GB200 NVL72 from @Dell with NVIDIA Quantum InfiniBand, setting a new bar for AI infrastructure. This wouldn’t have been possible without the support of our valued partners at @Dell and @Switch.
