A Chinese AI lab has released a coding agent that does not wait to be asked.
It sits in developer group chats and offers fixes unprompted. Its own manual says it should take as little human attention as possible. The lab built a team around this earlier in the year. Much of what makes these agents good is the scaffolding around the model, not the model itself.
The scaffolding is now open source.

DeepSeek released a prototype coding agent called "Super-agent", an open-source challenge to Anthropic's Claude Code. It monitors developer group chats and suggests fixes without being summoned, per a WeChat post from the Harness team on Saturday. DeepSeek's own manual says the agent aims to "take as little human attention as possible." The Harness team was formed earlier this year, and DeepSeek has raised about 100 billion yuan ($15 billion) ahead of its IPO.
