The GPU Daily · #110 · covering Saturday 31 October

The physical layer of AI, every day. Here's what moved on Saturday 31 October 2026.

A chipmaker is in talks to cosign the loans of one of its own customers.

Nscale had about twenty-five thousand chips running in August, a fraction of the nearly five hundred thousand it plans to deploy. It is building a campus in West Virginia for Anthropic. The chipmaker has backed leases and chip purchases before. Now it may back the construction.

The buyer of the chips needs a lender.

The lender wants a seller willing to catch the fall.

Nvidia is in talks to guarantee billions in debt for Nscale's West Virginia campus. Anthropic signed a $44.6 billion contract for its first 460MW building. Under the residual value guarantee, Nvidia would take over the facility if Nscale defaulted on construction payments, then help find a buyer and new tenant. Its earlier support covered leases and chip purchases, not construction.

OpenAI released GPT-6 Luna on 22 September 2026 at $0.10 per million input tokens, and a 1.39M-token repository run cost $0.284 on GMI Cloud, one tenth of the GPT-5.6 Luna equivalent.

Why this matters: Company-stated pricing tests may show lower per-token costs for inference buyers, though the source is a single provider blog.

HarnessPro raised pass rates 2 points and cut cost per task 26.1% by having agents rewrite their own harness without reference answers.

Why this matters: Lower per-task cost may reduce inference spend for agent workloads if the gains hold outside the paper.
